Lust or Love?

I guess it has been at least 20 years ago a couple asked me to come see them, maybe 25 years ago. The wife had found some of her husband’s pornographic magazines and her heart was broken, she was upset.

I got to the house and asked them what the problem was and the wife began to cry. She told me she found the magazines and her heart was broken because she felt like he was looking at those pictures and as they were making love he was thinking about those women in the books.

She felt like she was not attractive enough for him and he had to go look at these books in order to have sex with her. She was crying so hard, she was so hurt.

I looked at the tears running down her face and the pain and hurt and suffering and I could see how much deeper a woman can hurt than a man.

He was ashamed and tried to just brush it off but this was going to take some work on his part and the help of the Holy Spirit to heal things.

Let’s look at sex. Sex is good, God created it to be enjoyed between a husband and a wife. Complete with orgasms, emotions, intimacy and a joining of two people together with soul ties.

Because men are so visual, and women too, the success of magazines like Playboy and I think it is called Playgirl for women have made millions of dollars.

When I was a kid you might find a place to look at pornographic movies in some seedy part of town. Of course, if you wanted to protect your reputation that would be the last place in town you would want to go.

Of course, with church going people they had a great disdain for those kinds of places in their towns. But as immorality increased in our nation you can buy the books all over the place now.

You can now watch pornography on your tv, computer, iPhone, tablets or any other place they have wi-fi or internet access.

I had posted before that one of the largest corporations in the world did a survey with its employees. One of the questions was how many people were addicted to internet pornography. The surveys were nameless no one knew who filled them out.

The results came back and over sixty percent of the people said they were addicted to the internet pornography. Well Randy, what does it matter maybe it will put a little bit of fire back in the bedroom. Hmm….let’s see what Jesus’s perspective is on that:

Mat 5:27 “You have heard that it was said, ‘YOU SHALL NOT COMMIT ADULTERY’;
Mat 5:28 but I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.
Mat 5:29 “If your right eye makes you stumble, tear it out and throw it from you; for it is better for you to lose one of the parts of your body, than for your whole body to be thrown into hell.

Now Jesus is saying when you look at those movies and those books and pictures and you lust in your heart it is just the same as committing the act of adultery.

Well, Randy, I don’t cheat on my husband or wife I just look at those books and movies. Well, Jesus is saying here that you might just as well be going out and having sex with all of those women you are lusting after. It’s plain and simple, let’s not try and dress it up.

I’m not trying to throw stones or judge or be mean to anyone. I’m just trying to get someone to see how Jesus is looking at this giant problem in our nation.

Pornography is a stimulate, it is addictive and very destructive. Most every one of the horrible sexual crimes that have been carried out has been after the person was watching or looking at pornography.

Just as any other addiction you need deliverance from the stronghold, the oppression the stronghold brings with it. Of course, people try to quit but they find it has a stronghold in their lives and they don’t.

Friend if you have an addiction to pornography and you are a Christian and you don’t know how to get free, CAREFULLY choose a Spirit Filled Christian that knows how to get deliverance from pornography and talk to them.

Do not cast your pearls before the swine. Don’t share things with people in the church that you don’t know are spirit filled believers that love God and love people and who would not cherish the honor that comes along with opening your heart and trusting them.

I have seen people do that and the person they shared with shared with their best friend and they shared with their best friend and in about 13 minutes everyone in the whole church knew about the person’s problem.

That person got hurt, felt ashamed, left the church, put a wall up and never shared with anyone again. Prayerfully consider who you will share the precious things of your heart with.

Anyway, I have an appointment to go to. God bless you, may your day be greatly blessed….
