So That’s How He Does It…

So, that’s how He does it?

If we do not understand a few things we can walk away thinking that God isn’t answering our prayers, doesn’t care, doesn’t love us or any number of other things.

There are several areas of life that we deal with all the time that we need God’s help with. They are the spiritual, the physical, financial, emotional, the domestic and the social areas of life. These areas are the life you deal with and how God does things for you. If you are going to have the abundant life that God speaks of you have to know about these things, or you will just live like the heathen do.

Let’s address first the spiritual. This deals with our relationship with God. We have to understand we were born into this world a sinner. We were born in sin and conceived in sin. We are not sinners because we sin. We sin because we are sinners. We need a Savior.

Rom 3:23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 
Rom 3:24 being justified as a gift by His grace through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus; 
Rom 3:25 whom God displayed publicly as a propitiation in His blood through faith. This was to demonstrate His righteousness because in the forbearance of God He passed over the sins previously committed; 
Rom 3:26 for the demonstration, I say, of His righteousness at the present time, so that He would be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.

That word justifier is defined by being the one who declares you innocent. If you are a born again Christian:

Joh 1:12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name, 
Joh 1:13 who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.

If you are a born again Christian then that day you stand before the Judge:

Jas 4:12 There is only one Lawgiver and Judge, the One who is able to save and to destroy; but who are you who judge your neighbor?

When you stand before the Judge that day. In that courtroom above every courtroom and you stand before the Lord and the Book of Life is opened and your name is written in it, you will see that you are innocent of all charges.

Jesus has washed you, cleansed you, justified you, sanctified you:

Rev_20:15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

1Co 6:9 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, 
1Co 6:10 Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. 
1Co 6:11 And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.

Randy I am a born again Christian but I admit there is an area or some areas that I am just failing in. Thank God the Lord has made provision for that also:

1Jn 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. 
1Jn 1:8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 
1Jn 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 
1Jn 1:10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

Know today that there is only one who has the ability to take sin away:

Joh_1:29 The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.

Now if you took this verse out of context you might think that Jesus takes everyone’s sins away, that all people go to Heaven and are saved because of what Jesus did on the Cross. But a person has to receive by faith what Christ has done for them. We get things from God “through Faith”.

Heb_11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Eph 2:7 That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. 
Eph 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 
Eph 2:9 Not of works, lest any man should boast. 
Eph 2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

Well, I can see that I am not going to address each area in this post so I will try to wrap this up on the Spiritual. Christ died on the Cross, rose from the grave ascended to the Father with a promise to His disciples:

Luk_24:49 And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.

We know on the day of Pentecost God fulfilled that promise:

Act 2:1 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. 
Act 2:2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. 
Act 2:3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. 
Act 2:4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

There is so much confusion in the church about this event and it is very important to the church today but I am not going to go into a full teaching on this today.

What throws people off today about this great event is the word “tongues”. People watch movies and you have some crazy religious person with tattoos all over their body and they are speaking in some unintelligible babble they call unknown tongues.

That word tongues would have been better-translated languages. So when on the day of Pentecost the Promise of the Father was sent and came upon the disciples, the followers that were joined together they spoke in other languages:

Act 2:5 And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven. 
Act 2:6 Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speak in his own language.

So on the day of Pentecost God sent the Holy Spirit to these people and when He did they began to speak in other languages unknown, unlearned by them in order to speak forth the Word of the Lord.

He did not come with cloven fingers, feet, ears or knees of fire but tongues, we spread this gospel with our mouths:

Act 2:3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. 
Act 2:4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

Let’s not turn this event into some kind of mysticism. The event is easily defined here. God sent the Promise, the Holy Spirit because of our need of Him in this life to fulfill God’s purpose and desires in our life and the life of others.

We are still talking about the spiritual here. If you are trying to over come sin in your life and you are a Christian you need two things:

You need what Christ did for you on that Cross and you need the Holy Spirit in your life:

1Co 6:11 And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.

The name of Jesus represents who he is, what He has done and what authority He holds. The Holy Spirit is the one from page one of the Bible who carries out the work of God in people’s lives. The Holy Spirit has performed the Work in all the lives of people throughout the Bible.

Jesus did all the miracles in the Bible by the help of the Holy Spirit. Jesus did not do any miracles until the Holy Spirit descended upon Him. For thirty years he lived, worked, slept, ate, like a regular human being until the day the Holy Spirit descended upon Him.

After that happened he is changing water into wine, healing all manner of sickness and disease, raising people from the dead, taking two fish and five small loaves of bread and blessing it and feeding thousands of people that were present.

If Jesus needed the Holy Spirit to do things I know that we need the Holy Spirit to help us today too. What does Jesus say:

Joh 15:1 “I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. 
Joh 15:2 “Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit, He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit, He prunes it so that it may bear more fruit. 
Joh 15:3 “You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you. 
Joh 15:4 “Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you unless you abide in Me. 
Joh 15:5 “I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing.

I know this has been long, trying to close this now. We just really cannot do anything apart from Christ Jesus. Oh you can sin, fornicate, lie, steal, lust, hate etc but you cannot bear any kind of real godly fruit in your life without Christ coming into your life.

Jesus the Christ is sitting at the right hand of the Father today but the Spirit of God is in us if we have “received” by faith what Christ has done on that cross and I am not talking about drinking juice and eating a wafer.

You do not receive Christ by eating a wafer and drinking juice that would be a work performed by you. You can drink 10 gallons of juice and 10 pounds of wafers and you would still be a lost sinner.

You can dip your hands all day into Holy Water but it is not going to cleanse you one bit:

1Jn 1:7 but if we walk in the Light as He Himself is in the Light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin.

You can pray from morning to night and God would not hear your prayers if you have not allowed him to remove the partition of sin between you and God through Christ.

Isa 59:1 Behold, the LORD’S hand is not so short That it cannot save; Nor is His ear so dull That it cannot hear. 
Isa 59:2 But your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God, And your sins have hidden His face from you so that He does not hear. .

Closing, really closing with this. We are sinners born in sin in need of a Savior, a Helper, a Comforter, a Teacher, a Deliverer. God in His love sent Christ to reconcile men and women to God.

Through faith in Christ, through the Grace of God through faith, we are able to receive Christ as Lord and Savior in our lives. He takes our sin away and breaks the ruling power of sin in our lives.

We experience the born again experience, a new birth, a spiritual birth, every sin is forgiven, every curse over our life broken and we become a child of God:

Joh 1:12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name,

So our sins are forgiven, we have a spiritual birth, we are washed, justified, sanctified, a child of God then why, oh why do I think like this, talk like this and do these kinds of things? Because although you have been sanctified and you have been set apart for God and you hold a “position” in Christ, while you live on this earth you have a condition in Christ where the deeds of the body must be mortified or destroyed:

Rom 8:13 for if you are living according to the flesh, you must die; but if by the Spirit you are putting to death the deeds of the body, you will live.

We try to fix the sin problem in our lives apart from Christ we find out that we only fail. But if we will humble ourselves and see the need of the Holy Spirit in our lives to do a “progressive” work of sanctification in our lives it causes us to have intimate relationship with God calling upon Him for Grace and the Power of the Holy Spirit to remove these deeds of the body out of our lives.

We have to renew our minds and allow the Holy Spirit to conform us to the image of Christ in order for us to be like Christ.

There is a new life that God has for us, he does not want us to be the same people in our past:

2Co 5:17 Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come. 
2Co 5:18 Now all these things are from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation, 
2Co 5:19 namely, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and He has committed to us the word of reconciliation.

Closing with this last verse:

Rom 8:2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and of death. 
Rom 8:3 For what the Law could not do, weak as it was through the flesh, God did: sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and as an offering for sin, He condemned sin in the flesh, 
Rom 8:4 so that the requirement of the Law might be fulfilled in us, who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.

Knock and it shall be opened to you, seek and you shall find, ask and it will be given to you. The Bible says, Jesus, speaking says If you being evil know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask.

Luk_11:13 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?

Call upon the Lord, ask for Grace and the power of the Holy Spirit today to help you, and change you.
