The Kind of Life that God Wants

I see so many people failing and suffering, living defeated lives because of one sin or another that has a stronghold in their life. They need change or deliverance but do not really know how to go about it.

When going to most of the modern day churches they would be pointed to self to bring change. Someone, maybe a pastor would tell them they need to pray more, read the Bible more, come to every church service, get involved in church and find your ministry.

Now while all of those things are good things they only point to you being the answer to solving the sin problem in your life. The God kind of life is not a life of failure and defeat, it is a life of Victory!

So how does a person get victory over this condition that plagues the human race? I’m speaking of a law that is operating in the human race today and it is called the Law of Sin and Death. You sin, it causes separation from God.

Every single human being in this world was born under the Law of Sin and Death. It was the greatest Law on the Face of the Earth but God created a Law sometime in eternity past that is greater than the Law of Sin and Death.

If we do not understand this Law then we cannot avail ourselves of its benefits. This Law is called The Law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus. I will print it for you:

Rom 8:2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.

We see a Law here that makes us free from the Law of Sin and Death operating in our lives. The is a way of Victory today over Sin. Sin does not have to rule and reign in our lives, that is not the way God designed it.

But if we do not understand this Law we are doomed to fail in this Christian walk by sin dominating us in some area. I am going to give one example but it is the same formula for any area of life.

Picture yourself a lost sinner in need of forgiveness. In need of having this Born Again experience, a Spiritual Birth and becoming a child of God. So we come across these verses:

Joh 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

Eph 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Eph 2:9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Rom 10:8 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;
Rom 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

Rom 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

So we read these verses and find out we need to be born again. It is only by the Grace of God through Faith that this can happen. So then comes the act of actually receiving what God has done for us through Christ:

Joh 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
Joh 1:13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

So the question on how to get the Born Again experience that makes you a son of God is through simple faith. But faith in what? Faith that if you believe in your heart that Jesus Christ is the only Begotten Son of God, he was born of a virgin, lived 33 years, came to die upon a Cross as a sacrifice to pay for sin’s debt for the sins of the World. He died, was placed in a tomb, three days later he arose from death and ascended to His Father in Heaven and sit now at the right hand of God in His exalted position as the Savior of the World.

What does it mean to believe in your heart? Just as your physical heart is the core of your physical life your spiritual heart is associated with the seat of your spiritual life, the
seat of moral nature and spiritual life, the seat of grief, the desires, the perceptions, the thoughts, the understanding, the reasoning powers, the imagination, conscience, the intentions, purpose, the will, and faith. The heart, in its moral significance in the Old Testament, includes the emotions, the reason, and the will.

So we see when the Lord wants us to believe in our hearts it is the very core of our being that we believe and not just some intellectual assent to a fact.

What it amounts to is hearing the Word of God and acting upon it and experiencing the Grace of God and the Power of the Holy Spirit through Faith.

Remembering this all comes about because of Jesus Christ and His Finished Work on the Cross. Like I said you cannot have blinders on and just look at the Finished Work of Christ as dying on that Cross.

The Finished Work of Christ on the Cross includes God the Father sending Christ, being born of the virgin Mary. He lived, He died, rose again, ascended, and was exalted. He now sits in intercession at the right hand of God, His Father.

Your spiritual life today comes through Faith in Christ and what he Finished on that Cross and by no works you could ever do. It is the Cross plus….NOTHING. It’s by Grace alone, through Faith alone, in Christ alone.

Christ going back to the Father knew we needed a helper, a comforter, a teacher to lead us and guide us in all truth and to accomplish what He was sent forth to do in our lives.

So you believe in your heart and accept Christ as your Savior. Every sin is forgiven and every curse is broken. You have become the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus:

2Co 5:21 For he hath made him
to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

So we have been delivered from the curse of death and the sentence of Hell upon our lives and we are seated with Christ in Heavenly places. This is our position in Christ. But your condition in Christ changes as a progressive growth goes in your life:

2Pe_3:18 But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.

We have allot of growing up to do but if we are staying hungry for the things of God and the eyes of our understanding have been enlighted we see further and better than we did six months ago.

So we see the God kind of life comes through Faith in Christ and what He accomplished in His Finished Work, by His Grace and through the Power of the Holy Spirit.

Through the lies and deceptions of Satan you can give the devil place in your life:

Eph_4:27 Neither give place to the devil.

Oppression and strongholds occur when we give place to Satan in our lives and then we need deliverance, freedom. So do we need to run to a deliverance minister? No, we need to know the truth in order to be free:

Joh_8:32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

Psa_33:4 For the word of the LORD is right, and all his works are done in truth.

Joh_17:17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.

2Ti_2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Jesus said he is the Way, The Truth and the Life and who the Son sets free is free indeed! So just as you needed to place faith in Christ and His Finished Work for Salvation you need to place your faith in Christ and His Finished Work on the Cross for a work of progressive sanctification in your life.

Sanctification in a believers life is a separation from evil things and evil ways. These are deeds of the body. So if you deal with sanctification the same way you deal with salvation you will get a steady flow of Grace and the power of the Holy Spirit to destroy sin in the inward parts:

Rom 8:13 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.

So if you go about trying to perform sanctification by works of the flesh you can not sanctify yourself any more than you can save yourself.

But if you find out you are lost and need a Savior you look to Christ, you receive Grace and the Holy Spirit works in you to save your soul.

When you sin in your life that the Holy Spirit reveals to you then you look to Christ for Grace and the Work of the Holy Spirit to mortify or destroy the deeds occurring in this body of ours. Prescription for Victory:
You focus is Jesus Christ.

The object of your faith is what Christ accomplished for you in His Finished Work on the Cross.

Your new power source is not your willpower but the Power of the Holy Spirit.

If you do things this way the end result will be the victory over that sin in your life that is plaguing you. Jesus said apart from me you can do nothing.:

Joh 15:5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

Let’s take a lesson from Jesus today and apply it. Have a wonderful day in the Lord…..
